It's not Israel in New Jersey; rather, the idea is sort of a Jewish state within the US, as Utah is a Mormon state within the US. Some of the justification for Israel rests on the desire of Jews to live amongst their own people, that can easily be accomplished within the USA as it is with Mormons, Qakers, Cubans, etc.
