Right-o. New, interesting and not very good things appear to 'pop' up all the time. I hear a great deal of surprise and alarm in the weather reports --- gee, it's hot! Wow, those are lots of days of record temps. Hm, those allergies are bad this year. Oh my, a big piece of frozen mountain just slid off. I find it hard to believe that we understand the weather well enough that we can calmly predict that it's either not happening or can be fixed. I just get the feeling that the boulder has already been dislodged, it's rolling downhill and we're just sitting around wondering if we should do more about trying to catch it.
