They are distorting things irresponsibly, IMO.

The potential consequences are much more dire than simply being illogical or irrational.

The specter of US military personnel being prosecuted for war crimes is something that horrifies me. I keep looking at that word, "horrifies", trying to think of a different word, but it's not coming.

I think they are forced to. I don't think relying solely on the justice paradigm works, but I believe they are being forced politically and judicially in to trials, so they are applying parts of the justice paradigm. Then they try and make those trial more perfunctory to make them more like the war paradigm.

What would you have them do?
