Actually, if you read the press report coming out of Australia, it appears as though coverage performance of Telstra's 850W-CDMA network is a fraction of the coverage performance of Telstra's 850MHz CDMA network. Therefore, it would appear that Telstra (or Ericsson) will need to spend a lot more money on 850W-CDMA base stations to match the coverage of Telstra's 850CDMA network. Doesn't sound like a real smart thing to do from where I'm sitting.
