pompsander, Something should be done to prevent tax payer's money from being used for the treatment of addictions that result from an individual's choice of life style. The true cost is bad enough, but when you add the corruption of the medical system, it is much worse.

There will never be a law enacted to punish those alcoholics and take them out of the medical system help, because too many congressmen, and senators, are drunks themselves. Can you imagine Teddy Kennedy voting for such a bill? A large majoriy of them love their cigars too. Probably smuggled in from Cuba.

Moderate use of either alcohol, and tobacco, should not be criminalized, but when it obviously turns into an addiction, pull the plug.

I say this as a recovering alcoholic that paid his own way on the road to being sober for over ten years.
