Re: "islamo-facists"

IMO, that's a REALLY POOR and INACCURATE description of the enemy.

(For some silly reason, Americans seem to want to always call every enemy-of-the-moment a 'fascist'. :-)

'Fascism' was the political marriage of Dictatorship and Corporate power (Mussolini, Il Duce, one of the founders of the political form we now call Fascism, never liked that term. He preferred 'Corporatism' because it better reflected the importance of the political partnership with corporate interests and the Capitalist business sector).

Truth is, the enemy we face in the Middle East now is NEITHER Fascist NOR Communist --- rather, it is Authoritarianism and fundamentalist religion allied with Nationalism... seeking Theocratic religious rule in the region and power in the world.

(This has *nothing* to do with fascism --- in fact, our 'side', the West, is a heck of a lot closer to big corporate interests then the Islamicists are! :-)

Marine who lost arm, leg in Iraq mugged outside Washington
AP ^ | August 3 2006

whbf.com

It's another bit of bad luck for a Marine who lost an arm and a leg in Iraq.

Lance Corporal Mark Beyers was mugged and robbed outside a restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland, last month.

The Marine from western New York was dining out with his wife, Denise, while finishing up rehabilitation at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

As they left the restaurant, five men approached them and asked for a cigarette. Denise Beyers tells The Buffalo News they gave the men a cigarette -- but the men grabbed her purse, kicked her and knocked the couple to the ground.

The thieves made off with 500 dollars just wired to them by a relative.
