I saw an NBC news story on sunni folks moving from bagdad to falujah where it is not reasonably safe. I think what we are seeing in iraq is a battle for the border areas between the three states. Bagdad is being fought over by sunnis and shiaa. IF the iraqis or the US cant bring order back to bagdad we need to step back and let the iraqis settle things. I dont see how we can end up without either a 2-state or 3-state solution over there.
Maybe it was inevitable. I think not. But the war and its aftermath is a botch job of the first magnitude and guys like rummy should be long gone and to bushes everlasting discredit, he placed loyalty to old white guys over the fp intersts of the US.
