I thought the engineered short squeeze was a common tactic of hedge funds no?

I agree completely. My thought is the same. I bought quite few long dated JOE puts today. Let's see hoe JOE looks after 2 more Q's of declining earnings.

<<Do you suppose that the hedge funds are trying to shake out all the shorts in weak hands, so they can have them all to themselves as JOE runs down to $20. You know, short a bunch and hold them, then buy a bunch to force the weak kneed shorts to buy to cover, and then borrow those shares and short them tomorrow.>>

I don't think it's manipulated per se, it just has alot of thin, high spread, jerky trading as befits it's very high short interest. You just have to expect a LOT more volatility in stocks like this, LEND is similar.

I'll give you an example... in the nineties DIAM I think was the symbol for for the Video company that got bot up fromm SSS or something like that... Anyone remember the Diamond Multimedia company. Well... the money said it was going up and then Diamond recorded the worst loss ever...a year later up 200% and never regain market share.

The purpose of the little tell is I bought on those TERRIBLE earnings because the money said so. I knew they would fail but it was the right thing to do.
