Bush and Clinton were both weak on border security. That is correct. But Bush is even worse because he was the governor of the largest border state for seven extra years and did absolutely nothing then. In fact he is quoted as supporting illegal immigration from Mexico. Clinton never went that far.

BTW, the Border Patrol doesn't want these Guardsmen Bush is slowly send them, they want more funding. But all our money is being wasted in Iraq and being given back to the very rich in the form of tax breaks.

GOP Candidate 'war veteran' claims debunked

Published: Wednesday August 2, 2006

(* Bush lied about being a real fighter pilot too in his autobiography. I guess he's set a bad example)

A GOP challenger to Rep. Alan Mohollan (D-WV) has come under scrutiny after accusations he falsely claimed to be a veteran of the first Gulf war. Republican candidate Chris Wakim has also been questioned about the type of graduate degree he received from Harvard University, ROLL CALL is reporting today.

Wakim currently serves as a member of the House of Delegates in West Virginia.

He has claimed to be a veteran of the first Gulf War, honorably discharged for injuries sustained "in the line of duty." However, the Delegate was actually stationed at Fort Devens in Massachusetts from 1988 to 1991, the period encompassing the war.

(* If you read Bush's autobiography, he makes it sound like he was a Top Gun fighter jock ready for combat if he was called. In fact, he never learned how to fly, went AWOL from the Guard and lied about it, then left two years early without explanation to go to Harvard Business School, where his professor called him a lazy liar.)
