Texas Hold 'em is a fun game. I have played it for fun, never for money. You know why? Because on the internet, I have no idea who I am playing. What if I am playing and winning against a gambling addict that has maxxed out his credit cards for this last game in hopes of winning enough to pay rent and keep a roof over his kid's head.....such a gain I do not want.

pompsander, Not really. Gambling in a casino has a lot more reality to the games than gambling with an unknown entity on the other end of the internet. The fun of gambling is in the glitz of the lights, the attention of the people, and the knowledge that you are in a fair game. In such an atmosphere, one is less likely to become addicted to the game, and pay more attention to the ambiance.

Sitting alone in front of a monitor is cold, and meaningless.
