"There were soldiers killed even as we occupied Germany also. ANd, tell me again....how long did it take our own Democracy to get off the ground....Somewhere around 17 years was it not?"

But during that 17 years there were not daily bombings of South Carolina baptist churches by New York episcopalians. North Carolinians were not kidnapping Rhode Islanders on a daily basis.

What would be the percentage of Americans killed based on the population of our nation in 1787 if it suffered the percentage of losses Iraq is suffering today?

Democracy is a wonderful thing. Our great nation proved it can grow and develop in an atmosphere where reason and intelligence rule the process. I don't think reason and intelligence are driving the process in Iraq.
