If he really meant the whole Core 2 Duo family, he might be starting the 7 weeks from the time of the first Woodcrest shipments, back in mid-June.

If he means Conroe or Conroe/Merom, then it could be that most new Core 2 parts are being shipped as Woodcrests for now.


I guess if you can't trust his command of the English language, or if he omitted some qualification that is necessary to make his statement true, I guess he could have meant anything at all.

What good are statements like these if you have to mind-meld with the guy to figure out what the hell he's trying to say?

Again, you say "a little less than 10 weeks" == "7 weeks". Seeing as Intel's quarter ends a little less than 10 weeks after that statement, I think he was speeaking of shipments in the quarter.

Likely only Conroe shipments though, but Woodcrest market will take some time to develop.
