Why not buy baseball cards too?

Message 22684917

remember when BASEBALL cards were all the rage? now apparently they are largely worthless. this is an interesting story of the rise and fall of an "asset class" which has universal lessons for investors imo.

What not buy a pet rock or a chia plant - why subjugate yourself to owning something whose value can change at the whim of the masses? What is personally valuable to you? At least if no one else wants your collector wine you can still personally enjoy it eh?
