The Fortis Bank / Virtual Metals "Yellow Book" estimates Jewelry/Demand = 2954/4230 (metric tonnes) = %70 for 2005. This report is interesting because it attempts to separate the Jewelry category into "Adornment" and "Investment" subcategories, and it attempts to estimate jewelry demand in different geographical regions. \| resourceinvestor.com \| virtualmetals.co.uk The first link describes the Yellow Book, the second is to the latest April 2006 edition. The above 70% figure comes from the table on page 10. I know very little about gold, and currently have only one gold-related line in my portfolio (Skygold, SKV.V, a speculative exploration play). I have been trying to learn something about the gold market, though. The Yellow Book has some interesting comments about how gold prices affects investment jewelry. Alan
