I agree with that observation of yours about some of the tenor of that article....

Still, when it comes to the game of taxation --- what has ALWAYS been popular, as the old saying goes, is: 'Don't tax me. Don't tax you. Tax that fellow BEHIND THE TREE!' :-)

(PS - in my humble opinion, anyway, ALL income should be taxed at exactly the same rate... regardless of source, and with as few loopholes and special tax preference items as humanly possible. That would include inheritances, gifts, 'wage income', 'investment income', 'earned income', 'unearned income', etc. REGARDLESS of source. The government should NOT be in the position of telling [through the tax codes] one person their 'work' is more important then another's. Nor should businesses be incented to conform their affairs and modify their investing to capture narrow paper-based tax gains, instead of for true economic reasons.)
