Why not? Not just public money, corporate pensions, health benefits, you name it.

This is the one area on which we actually agree. It is a practical, necessary consideration that should be examined in all its repercussions. I feel that way about our open borders also. There are certain prices to be paid, and I want to know the price tag.

Mixed marriages- I was speaking more globally than you, which might account for our different historical views.

The extremist gay activists, like the religious zealots, or the Cindi Sheehan types, or the hardcore NOW women, aren't good representatives of a movement's central majority. Most people just want equal treatment, some respect and acceptance. I don't believe most are out to destroy anything but what prevents that. Of course it's the most verbal and extreme that get noticed, and sadly, sometimes get the results.

I don't see this happening anytime soon, but I don't see it going away, either. Our generation isn't going to accept it, but each generation will move closer to removing the current prejudices.
