I think these figures are worth examining,

Intel's pre-tax profit was approx 1.2B on revenue of $8B.

AMD's pre-tax profit was approx $120m on revenue of $1.2B.

Curiously, Intel had higher profit per revenue. And higher profit per market share than AMD. Corrections to my arithmetic or base figures will be appreciated.

Reason for using pre-tax is that tax rate is not an indicator of long-term operational profitability.
