AMD could probably increase their pricing and it'd still seem like a bargain to Dell compared to prices paid for equivalent performance that INTC has been extracting from Dell.


Dell doesn't care much about "equivalent performance" as they have proven for many years. They care about price and adequate volumes.

I wouldn't doubt AMD offered single-core Turions at near Celeron prices. I could see the lower clocked single-core Turions being sold to Dell at $50-$75 each.
