We agree on that. The Walmart economy lowers our standard of living. Gradually, all those ordinary people in middle America are having the rug pulled out from under them. The only winners are the fortunate few in top management or the investor class. And this situation is getting much worse, not better.

Next shoe to drop, the credit balloon bursting. Many of those middleclass people who put all their money into new homes are going to start losing them. National debt and personal debt both are at record levels, and that was only sustainable for a short time after Greenspan lowered interest rates to the ground.

It might be the largest employer but it only employees a small faction of American workers.

And if Walmart didn't employee those people they would also hold mostly low end jobs.
