The government should be collecting higher taxes from any company that takes their former American jobs to the third world.

It can be argued that its unreasonable to tax them at all if their business activities are overseas. The US's position is far closer to the direction you want than the way most other countries work things.

In fact, those companies should not collect any US benefits whatsoever

The overseas workers get fewer or in some cases or ways no US federal government benefits. Many of them are not Americans, and even the Americans don't directly benefit from government spending as much as their fellow citizens back home.

Kerry's top economic issue was to punish companies exporting jobs from the US. Or at least to remove all tax incentives for doing so. But real issues were not discussed by Republicans in 2004. It was all about smearing Kerry by fabricating imaginary crimes and flaws in his superb military record, just to claim he's "soft" on terrorism and defense.

Meanwhile, Bush-Cheney have driven our military into a deep quagmire from which there now seems no escape but just to bite the bullet and pull out. It is ironic that those people in the know are actually missing Saddam Hussein now. At least he held that crazy "country" together by cracking heads when necessary. And he kept Iran in check as well.

PS: From the growing evidence, some of it very solid, it is more and more clear Kerry actually won the election last year. So Bush-Cheney stole two in a row and are not legit. This also means that election fraud may be our greatest problem of all. We badly need to take care of that problem but the GOP congress refuses to even investigate.
