there was a guy corliss lamont who was a dupont who went into big debt a few times. the duponts bailed him out a few times and finally were fed up and let him go bankrupt.

there was a corliss lamont who was a leading communist. he was related (son) to a prominent banker.

i am not sure how they are related to ned lamont or if it matters or should matter.
