Did you read that article (I think I posted it here) about how Iraq was dividing the country worse than Vietnam had divided the country? That surprised me- I figured Vietnam was the more divisive war. Strange times. But we'll get through it. Oddly enough I think if Iraq falls to civil war it might actually help unite this country. The more people who see Iraq as a failed policy, the more united the country will become behind that idea. I suspect the people who will end up in the small minority will be the folks who believed in Iraq, and who can't give up on the dream. Right now there are enough of them that even though they are now a minority, the country still seems split, but soon I think that will change. When that happens things will smooth out, perhaps the idea of invasions to change other countries and make them "better" will die down for a bit, and we can spend some money at home on things life infrastructure, which we desperately need to do.
