Peter....the MEDIA will go for the story, no matter what the story is.

I don't remember the "liberal" media trying to bury the Lewinsky story. They played every second of it they could.

I don't even know about the Ron Brown thing. "I know" you're gonna say that's proof of the bias, but I read ALL the media and I don't remember reading about the Ron Brown laughter thing.

You say that the media has been out to "destroy" Bush, but I disagree. I think that after 9/11 the media gave Bush a free ride. They didn't make a big deal of the deficits he was running up and they didn't really look seriously (WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE) at the reasons Bush was giving for going to war.

Peter, instead of talking to me you should try and begin a dialogue with fellows like William Buckley and Georgy Will. Those gentlemen have a history and understanding of what true conservatism is supposed to be all about. If you work hard to present your views in an interesting manner, (preferably by snail mail, you probably will get an answer.

The Bush rightwing cannot blame the media for anything, the Bush rightwing has controlled more of the media than any other administration in memory through a combination of corporate control of radio (dominated by well-financed rightwing shows), clear support from the only truly biased network Fox News, intimidation of the media especially in the lead-up to the war, lying to and hoodwinking the media like they did with Judith Miller of the NY Times, paying journalists to write Bush-friendly articles, effectively using the rightwing echo chamber to put out huge falsehoods which 50% of the people start believing and attacks on such "liberal" media figures as Dan Rather, PBS, the NY Times and more.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Bush has been in power long enough to have a proven record of results. So the media can judge him on his results not his promises of rhetoric, and only a fool or diehard rightwinger would like anything he sees. Bush is basically a failed presdient and his rightwing congress is corrupt and incompetent. They all need the boot and most in the media recognize this. Most people realise it. And most voters will vote that way in the next two elections.
