Hi Hawk....You posted to me twice...re: suicide bombers....I said it was redudant and basically silly, like 'freedom fries'. I never said it wasn't reprehensible. It's a sin, the only unpardonable one, at that, IMO.

re: 'evangelism by war'..What I fear in Bush is an inability to comparmentalize his religious beliefs from his duties at hand along with an assumption that because he was 'saved' once, God would save him from a serious error of judgement, such as starting a war. Worst is Bush, as a believer in the inerrancy of the Bible and disinclined to study it for himself, is an easy prey for those who pick and choose their scriptures, even the commandments, to advance their agenda.

As to fatalism, I have long believed that the deep level of fatalism that exists in the Islamic culture is profoundly counter-productive for mideast Arabs.
