Yes, the recent political uncertainty in Mexico may have worried some investors. However, after this election is resolved, Mexico should return to the top tier of politically safe areas for mining investment.

Mexico ranked in the top 10 policy juisdictions, along with 6 Canadian provinces, in the 2006 Fraser Institute survey of hundreds of mining companies: fraserinstitute.ca

If you haven't seen this survey yet, it's well worth reading (click on pdf file at bottom of linked site), or at least browsing. With Mexico at or near the top of several different categories, it helped make me very comfortable holding my Mexican mining investments (MMGG, ASM, GGC).
