I always enjoy your thinking EC. I have said more or less the same thing for 40 years re your lesson in logic-lol:

Quite simply put (much simpler than you put it-lol), if one says there must be a god because the universe is so perfect, or organized, sophisticated,etc, they are compelled to ask then where did god come from? ; as a god who created this sophistcated universe would need to be even more sophisticated!

Religous people will then say well, god always existed. Then the logical response is: "why could the universe not always have existed.

In sum where did god come from? It is much easier to guess where the universe came form. A vacuum energy flucuation-lol.

Ironically we pretty much know how evolution created the biomass we see on earth; and speculation has it that maybe the inorganic universe itself was created by an inorganic evolution.

Might of started something from listening to too much Petty.
But can Petty's views just be explained by a touch of genius? if so that is something I know nothing about but would like to try some.One of the few artist's that seems to make a point of supplying the words to his music.I think to make sure that we do not misunderstand him.
