Aphorisms are wonderful, and can be fun and witty- but there is little on this Earth simple enough to be summed up by an aphorism- except for those which attack over generalization. Nothing ever seems to be as simple as it seems at first blush.

My favorite was when Mondale won the Democrat party nomination and as he was standing on the stage after winning it and looking at all the democrats cheering him he turn to an aide and say" look at them and I'm gonna tax the shit out of them"
