that is a good point about the difference between crude and gasoline markets. does all the PB crude end up on the West Coast?

we should also keep in mind that a barrel of crude contains 42 gallons. refineries can't turn it all into gasoline, but say half, or about 20 gallons per barrel. with 400kbpd of PB crude going offline, that's 8 million gallons of gasoline per day lost if all that crude was getting refined on the west coast. an average tank truck might carry 4000 gallons, so you'd need 2000 MORE interstate fuel trucks EVERY DAY going to CA to make up the difference. my guess is there aren't that many free fuel trucks floating around.
