Too bad all of us can't go sit in all the classrooms in the country and listen to what is actually being "taught" to our youngsters.

Most people 200 years ago in this country, could read and write and had at least an idea of why and how this country was founded. Before telephones, TV, wireless, computers, email, electric lights, cars, etc etc. They had candles to read by, very few books, an occasional newspaper, the Bible and maybe Pilgrims Progress, and if they were lucky, a quill pen and maybe a piece of paper.

Most of all, they had the Will to learn. There is no excuse today for ANYONE not to learn unless they are totally incapable.

people don't do their own thinking anymore

I think many people in America have very low self esteme.
They believe this rhetoric about social fitness that implies that if someone is rich it must mean they are smarter than you. A lot of people on this thread think the administration is able to make better decisions because of secret information or expensive harvard degress even though event after event shows them to make worse than average decisions.

I thought they were intellectually lazy but you're take is as good as any.
