"If he doesn't then he be permitting the Syrians and Iranians to "call the tune" in Lebanon. "

Thats what he seems to be saying--hopefully he is only paying lip service and when the time is right he will play. I am less sanguine about that than i was 48 hours ago. This particular PM was in bed with the syrians historically. Althought he may be pissed about what hizbolla has brought to lebanon, now that the war is in progress, he seems to be betting on hizbolla survival rather than israeli victory. He may have to be shown by israeli actions that he has once again chosen the wrong side---first syria and now hizbolla. That will be a very costly lesson for lebanon. I, like you, hope the cease fire compromises can be implemented so what i now fear will occur, wont.

What choice does he have? The western world is doing nothing. Syria and Iran are sending him a life line. The US is expediting missiles to Israel. However, as I mentioned in an earlier post; if the Arab unite, their will be hell to pay.
