There is no one left but bushies and a few rt wingers on these threads who think bush policy on iraq was not in need of major overhaul some time ago. I am sure the folks who built Rome were more flexible than Rummy and if Rummy was in charge of the Rome project, it would have failed too. We deal with these cretans on the left but continue to make the same errors on the right. And we think of ourselves as smarter when we support obviously failed policies. Bush/Cheney/Rummy fp failed. I like Condi and hope that somehow in the next two years she can do what kissinger did in somehow extricating ourselves from what is now a civil or sectarian war. Shiass will fight sunnis in iraq and possibly elsewhere. Back in the days of the iran/iraq war or sino/soviet dispute we thought this good. Maybe what we need is such a battle between the extremists on both sides. Maybe shiek nazralla can find bin laden or visa versa. What i am ranting about in this post is not one policy or another--its for the return of realistic flexible fp for the US and the removal of Donald Rumsfeld who sucks.
