After five years of his rather zealous partisan presidency, I don't think many Democrats will get much credit in their own ranks for doing what Bush would not, trying to work together.

Especially at this stage in the electoral cycle, where it would seem to Democrat advantage to constructively oppose, or at least encourage Bush to compromise onto Democratic terms, rather than vice versa.
