I don't think a sufficient number of parents will be willing to intentionally choose a difficult lifestyle for their own children to prove points. More likely that they will leave the decision to the fates, if anything.
Look at the congressional kids who go to private schools on both sides of the aisle.


You're right. My prior post was meant to be humorous. People who like liberal ideas seem to make exceptions for their own families. That is they like liberal ideas for society as a whole, but conservative principles are followed in their own homes and families. As a matter of fact, there is an interesting book entitled Do As I Say (Not As I Do) which highlights the gap between what people advocate vs what they do in practice. I've read it and got an awful lot of laughs from it.
