I've tried to lay out plans to generate peace in the Is-Pal-ME situation, and they involve either Israel making itself more acceptable to its neighbors (something Israel can control)

And exactly what those plans you would propose? Self-Exile? Suicide?

As I've said the objection to a non-Arab, non-Muslim country in the ME will fade if Israel grants citizenship rights to more Muslim Arabs. Pursuing a path of integration with the surrounding population (especially stateless Palestinians) rather than exclusion (we are a Jewish homeland, tough luck if you're not Jewish) is a great chance for lasting peace in the region. If Israel integrates the creme de la creme of the Pal refugees into itself the intolerant fanatics on the "other side" will become increasingly marginalized, as they were becoming in Lebanon until the recent hostilities.

That doesn't involve either suicide or exile; rather, it involves co-opting your enemy into your friend.
