Ouch, Hawk.....you just morphed our UN authority to an 'international mandate'.

When the UNSC issues a binding resolution that includes the term "all necessary means", it's the closest thing you're ever going to see out of them.

The UN has NEVER directed member states to use military force to enforce their binding resolutions. It doesn't have the authority to do so (and hopefully never will).

We went to war with a pretty puny coalition.....GB offered some much needed legitimacy but very little in theway of troops.

See my post to GST. The list of coalition members in the overthrow of Saddam was greater than it was for kicking Iraq out of Kuwait.
