Do you honestly believe that the US would invade Mexico and roll in to Mexico city in a response to concerns about oil fields in Mexico possibly draining a field that was also under Texas?

where clearly their behavior amounted to stealing.

That's not clear at all. Absent some agreement Kuwait had every right to pump the oil out of its own territory. I don't even think there has been any confirmation that Iraqi oil fields were effected but even if they where it isn't an act of war, and isn't something that would likely cause the US to try and take over Mexico. No armed force was called for and even if it was used it could have been limited to taking over the fields across the border.

If I think my neighbor has built a fence or a shed on my property, I might try to justify tearing down the shed or fence, but I don't have a right to seize the house or burn it down.
