The main thing I've learned from Afghanistan and Iraq is that one cannot trust the USA's claims about the other sides casualties either. "We killed xx insurgents today" Opps, turns out it was a wedding party. Dang! "Our football hero died fighting as a hero" Opps, we shot him ourselves. Dang! To many of such cockups for my trust level to remain high. The telling point being the long time it takes to admit the errors IMO.
