Quoting and linking to someone who shares your opinion, isn't evidence that your opinion is correct.

As for "the US takes no position" on Iraq's dispute with Kuwait, yes no position on the dispute, just as in theory we might have no position on a trade dispute between Japan and South Korea. But we might very well object if one of those two countries invaded the other because of the dispute.
