As I said yesterday, M&As can really kill a short. Looks like SAX is going to be up 30-40% today.

SAX was on my radar screen originally when I first looked at this group about 3 to 4 quarters ago. I decided to drop SAX because, after listening to a couple of earnings conf calls, I think their management is honest with the shareholders and honest with themselves. They were one of the first subprime lenders to openly talk about the problems and actively planning for the inevitable.

Did MS offered too much for SAX? May be, but they probably did not buy any unpleasant surprises which may not surface till a later date.
