Having the Supreme Court of any state over rule the state Constitution for short term political gain is something that Republicans would never condone or allow. Democrats in New Jersey and their media allies hailed it as a great victory. In New Jersey the McGreavey deal with him not resigning until after the 60 day limit so that instead of being on the ballot, his Lt. Gov. could take over was just another democrat coup. Republicans never would have allowed or condoned such behavior by one of their own. The partisan press would have covered the story a wee little bit differently too.

Once again, I do not condemn the Texas ruling concerning not being able to substitute candidates on the ballot, I only note the difference between the way it and the kerfluffle in NJ were handled and reported.
