So in that Texas district Delay is on the ballot as the Republican nominee, but the Republicans and Delay will be backing a write-in candidate. The Dems will vote for Lampson there will be a confusion factor by people hearing Delay say: "Don't vote for me, vote for the other guy", but can they deteremine which "other guy" he means for sure?

Assuming there is only a 2% screwup on this source of confusion alone, it could swing the district. Some will vote for Delay out of habit, some for the unnamed Republican, all the dems for Lampson and Lampson will get a part of the confusion vote.

If Delay really did screw up the master plan on this, the republicans ought to be pretty mad at him for playing it too cute. It could cost them an otherwise safe seat.
