We've had a great progression of Dem and Rep Presidents that understood and practiced realpolitik. The world gradually became a better, more democratic and peaceful place... for generations. Now we have a cult group of idealists running the WH and the Pentagon. And the world is going to hell. As well as our prosperity. They have set us back generations. I grew up in a damn good country... it's been a delicate balance maintained by (mostly) people of great skill from both parties. Too bad we turned the thing over to idiots. It will never be the same. Enjoy your blind loyalty. The rest of your life is the bet on these guys.
