Mr. Vargas predicted that gasoline would reach $3.50 a gallon before the end of the month, and he shook his head in disbelief.

Just bought some gas yesterday and we are already there. 3.78 litres of gas, which should be about equivalent to a US gallon, cost $4.12 Canadian, which looks to be about $3.58 U.S. It was even higher than that when we were in Nova Scotia in July -- a gallon cost $3.90 U.S.

Definitely seemed to be a lot less traffic on the TransCanada highway on our way home from NS compared to last year. Just guessing, but I'd say it was at least 30 percent less traffic -- perhaps even more -- for almost the same date as last year.
