I wonder if Cingular plans any type of wireless internet/mobile 4G?? service to match Sprint's WIMAX. Since Cingular inherited the AT&T Wireless spectrum, they must have huge amount of unused spectrm in many markets -- probably in the 800 MHz band as oposed to 1.7 or 2.5 GHz.

QCOM certaninly has busted it to keep Cingular competitive (and step ahead of competition) with HSUPDA

Regarding Sprint/Nextel's replacement of iDEN, I wonder why the announcement from Motorola of a planned phone/chipset that supports iDEN and WiMax, if their biggest (perhaps only) iDEN customer is transitioning away from that technology?

A question to ponder...
