Biggest issue is when will long term rates finally break out to the upside. If that happens with housing bust, recession on the horizon and oil prices 75+ it will be real bad. Probably much worse than the current inverted yield curve predicting. The most the fed can hope for is keeping the lid on it this next downturn with rates shooting up in anticipation of the next recovery a couple of years down the road.
