HDTV's down 15%

I wonder if the deflation crowd has changed their tune? Do they think it will be even worse because of this?

Phil repeated again today that the TRAN going down while the DOW goes up is all that saved him from the october 87 crash.

He says it shows companies are still building inventory and making product and running at warp speed 9 but no one is buying thier stuff. CNBC just had a report about HDTV inventory skyrocketing.

Perhaps prices for many things will go down - but the prices of the things people really need that go up will offset that by far perhaps? Chen says buy gold - I don't NEED gold, I can't eat it, I cant use it to lower my cholesterol, I cant drink it. I cant watch it either - except to collect dust - but those 42 inch flat panels were 3000 last Xmas - predicted to be under 2K this Xmas. I watch less big screen and more PDAphone so that inventory is wasted on me.

Take sprint doing this new WIMAX - current 2g and 3g networks let you read SI - is WIMAX going to make SI be read any faster? Human eyeballs can scan text at only so fast a rate eh? Will Sprint recoup their investment - perhaps if people want lots of wireless video - but I already can do that on a EVDO realtime. It doesn't take a lot of bandwidth to stream 320x240 of pixels (the screen of my PDA phone)
