"The left" are not the ones who created the Middle East problem we face today, the rightwing did. Bush-Cheney and his heocon chickenhawks who used 9-11 as an excuse to go off on a huge costly misadventure which was based on lies and so poorly planned that it was doomed from the start. That misadventure has created hundreds of thousands of new enemies and spurred existing enemies into action against us. Bush-cheney couldn't have done a worse job if they had put a monkey in charge, or done absolutely nothing.
