Is this one of the main reasons for the latest lawsuit?

I don't see how, but I really can't say. You might want to explain why you think it might be.

"The news of the proposed launch comes as Norway, Denmark and Sweden are challenging Apple to allow songs downloaded from iTunes to be played on any digital music player."

What is this about? Does this mean that the COUNTRIES of Norway, Denmark and Sweden are challenging Apple's business model. If so, there must be a a huge initiative in those countries to medel in business. If they don't like it, let some one set up a competing service.

I wonder if the French will apply the same logic to Nokia as they recently applied to Apple and force Nokia to open up its music store to other (i.e. non Nokia) handsets.

I wouldn't count on it until someone makes a stink about it
