1990-91 was already a different story. Still I don't agree with you that even in 1989 lending standards were that lax with so many S&L's falling everywhere you turned and bank regulators and oversight committees barking under every tree. Certainly nothing close to what we've seen the last 3 years..

FIRREA was formed in 1989 for a reason.
