The sounds they make when their food and lifespan are growing short. I noticed it yesterday morning.
The 8th of August is too early to hear it.
It's possible it has something to do with the full moon, and is not indicating anything.

Its tough to describe sounds in words, but I'll try:

The sound I have been hearing is not the heavy scritch scritch of cicadas, but rather a soft trilling that sounds distant no matter how close you are to it.

It is a sound that I previously have heard only in the Fall, and one that always seems somewhat wistful.

Re IYSA: You buy it when you want, and I'll buy it every chance I get. <g>

Actually, I am through buying for awhile. Let's see some results first, then maybe I'll be a buyer again.
